Core Analysis and Virtual Lab (VLAB)

By utilizing an in-house virtual laboratory, it is possible for core samples to be prepared and processed by utilizing a 3D analysis and simulation of the sample, showcasing the details of its composition and relatively permeability in multiple states.

The automated mineralogy offers an improved time-saving process that was often dedicated to physical testing techniques and technologies.

By implementing advanced AI algorithms to virtualize a mineral core sample, Virtual Core Flooding in a VLAB allows:

  • Characterize samples beyond the scope of traditional lab measurement.

  • Accurate representation of minerals, fractures and void spaces.

  • Perform experiments that validate simulations of hydrocarbon recovery.

  • Highlights void spaces for efficient reservoir extraction.

Core virtualization workflow produced by VLAB

It does this by using high end core scanning hardware and FAR ENERGY’s patented in-house software in order to create a faster process that is more accurate and more economical than conventional methods.

This system allows surveyors to identify the distribution of materials throughout the core sample much faster than traditional sampling processes.
